Keep the fire burning
William Mganga
I am William Mganga and at the age of nine, Englishman Peter J. Osborn visited the elementary school I attended. He had a conversation with the head of the school where he indicated he wanted to sponsor someone and I was the lucky one. Peter took me to a restaurant for the first time in my life where I was given chicken and French fries all for myself. Normally I shared the food with my brothers and sisters and now I had a whole plate to myself. I remember it so well, for the first time I ate French fries, what deliciousness!
Keep the fire burning
Peter sponsored my education and gave me the opportunity to study in England and I am a graduate biologist. This encounter has changed my life. I did have to make a promise for this, that what Peter did for me I had to do for another child, keep the fire burning.
Before I met Linda and Marije, I ran an orphanage for 10 years: Kikambala children’s home. I got to know Linda and Marije in 2013 and since then we have been working together to take care of as many children as possible and make a difference in their young lives. What I do for the children I do with all the love and passion I have in me. It is my life’s mission to help as many children as possible!
