For generations of resilient and strong children
Opportunities .
Unfortunately children in Kenya do not have the same opportunities as our Western children. This must and can be done differently. With the Rise Up Now program, we teach primary school children in Kenya to strengthen their self-confidence and develop social skills through play. As a result, they move into their future resiliently. The result:
- fewer youth victims of sexual violence.
- fewer unwanted pregnancies.
- fewer high school dropouts.
- less drug use.
- less crime.
- In short: a strong and resilient generation!

Blandina .
This is Blandina, a powerful woman from Kilifi. She was 15 years old when she walked into Kenya Child Care 's shelter. Fifteen and heavily pregnant after her stepbrother abused her. In a safe, loving environment, she gave birth to Joel and was able to give her trauma a place. She was given the opportunity to get an education. Blandina fought hard to give herself and her son a stable future. And in doing so, she discovered her calling: to help girls going through what she went through. Now she puts that into practice at Rise Up Now.
